Noel Smith maintains a private voice studio located 20 minutes north of Boston. She is in demand as a technical voice teacher and coach for equity and non equity professional singers. She prepares students for top tier undergraduate and graduate musical theater, pop, and classical programs across the country. Noel also teaches voice and is a repertoire coach at Walnut Hill School for the Arts.
Noel graduated summa cum laude from the Boston Conservatory in Voice Performance and Piano. She has further training in Estill Voice (Level 1, 2, 3); CCM training with Matt Edwards, Level 2& 3; Yoga For Singers; Feldenkrais; Teacher Training with Sheri Sanders of Rock the Audition and Kevin Wilson's Pedagogy Workshop at BoCo 2016. Noel is a vocal habilitator and collaborates with Brigham and Women's Hospital Voice and Speech Lab - retraining injured singers for a healthy career. She is a workshop presenter on vocal health and healthy belting for the teen singer, and was a featured presenter for NATS (2016) and The Voice Foundation (2016). Noel will be a presenter at this years NATS National Convention in Las Vegas 2018.
Noel’s students can be found on Broadway; (Elphaba/Wicked), (Maureen/Rent), and off Broadway; Murder Ballad, Broadway tours; Rent, Mamma Mia, Wicked, Finding Neverland, equity theatre companies, rock bands, singer/songwriters worldwide tours, and in classical performances. Her students have been accepted at: University of Michigan, NYU/Tisch, Syracuse, Ithaca, Boston Conservatory, Emerson, Manhattan School of Music, Berklee, AMDA etc. She prepares singers for The Voice and American Idol, where her students have moved on to the final audition rounds. She is also a Vocal Producer and has produced a number of pop and classical artists. Noel is a member of NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing), where she holds the position of Governor of Massachusetts, and President of the Boston Chapter. She is a member of ASCAP and The Voice Foundation, where she presented at the Annual Voice Symposium 2016 on healthy belting for teen singers, and a voting member of The Recording Academy (Grammy Awards).
Noel is a recording artist and songwriter who has released two solo albums, had songs on the charts and licensed her own music for films and video games. Constantly in demand as a session singer, Noel's voice has been featured in numerous Hollywood major motion pictures and in a number of internationally released video games. Most recently you can hear her vocals featured in Amazon Prime's "Electric Dreams" episode "AutoFac" (2018). Noel has also recorded for the last two albums of Naturally 7. She is co-founder and director of Vox Futura, New England's premier recording choir.
